At Yeshivat Or Chaim, the program opened with greetings from Mr. Robert Buckler, Holocaust Education Week volunteer. Students then heard from Professor Doris Bergen, who is Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Professor of Holocaust Studies in the Department of History at the University of Toronto. Professor Bergen spoke about the future of Holocaust education. She discussed the hologram technology being developed and the wealth of recorded testimony. Afterward, students participated in discussion groups, led by Prof Bergen, her graduate students and some of our Rabbeim. Students appreciated the engaging format, learning from the facilitators and considering the future of Shoah memory.
