Josh Gutenberg of the Yeshiva University Torah Mitzion Zichron Dov Beit Midrash led an informative and thought-provoking learning session. We discussed the question of whether or not we are allowed to dress as the opposite gender on Purim. We learned in chavruta for the first portion of the program and finished with a shiur. Ultimately, we found that there are different opinions on this issue.

The students were sponsored to learn, with proceeds benefiting Zareinu, a school for students with physical and / or mental disabilities. We were thanked by a staff from Zareinu, who told us about the music and physical therapy programs that are so essential to Zareinu’s program. In all, we raised over $1000 for this worthy cause. Participating in chessed opportunities changed our outlook not just for that day, but in terms of our roles in the community as well.
