Bnei Akiva Schools were represented in Israel in two competitions last week: grade 12 students Binyamin Fingerote, Kobi Nauenberg, Jeremy Piwko, Yoav Shumacher and Eli Werner, as a team, were finalists in the Weizmann Institute Safe Competition, while Evie Bernstein competed in the Ulpaniada competition.
Here’s a reflection from one of the students:
“During our trip to Israel, we toured the Weitzmann campus, viewed the different labratories and even heard some lectures. During the competition, we tried to crack other teams’ safes – we had one of the more difficult safes to crack! It was a great way to apply physics principles to daily life, put the formulas to use in a practical manner and spend a week in Israel. Many of us visited yeshivot and family while we there as well. Thank you to Mrs. Chocron for preparing us so well for this competition and accompanying us to Israel.”
