With a couple of key changes for this year, students throughout YOC were excited about this year’s elections. The grade 9s, 10s and 11s heard presentations for the convener, JVP and President positions. The JVP (Junior Vice President) is a new position being offered to a grade 11 student to gain experience on student council and give a voice to the lower grades. Ballots were distributed, votes were cast – and then the current grade 11s heard from Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer candidates, before voting on those positions.
