YOC’s school-wide shabbaton was a truly unforgettable weekend! There were so many incredible highlights: the singing during meals, the A Capella group-led Kabbalat Shabbat, the band’s amazing, hard-rocking performance, the engaging sessions with the Rabbeim, the achdut felt during the bonfire, the always-popular shmooze with the English department – we could go on! A real highlight was the leadership displayed by the grade 12s. They welcomed the grade 9s so warmly, their ruach was felt through Shabbat and straight through to Saturday night’s dancing. Their skit, the video, the organization of the learning groups – so many important details were thanks to our grade 12s’ efforts.
