Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and teachers came together for the first annual UO Mother-Daughter Learning Program. During the delicious dinner from Pantry, Rabbi Grauer conveyed some motivational thoughts connecting to the night’s event. After dinner, the learning program focused on halachik sources about shmitah and the laws that apply to it. Mrs. Grysman spoke about the differences between the written and oral Torah and made specific references to the laws of Shemitta which are so relevant this year. She also gave a great shout out to the fact that we have two Yoatzot Halacha on staff, Mrs. Rifka Sonenberg and Mrs. Sara Cheses, noting how fortunate the Ulpana girls are to be educated daily by women who so beautifully fuse the written and the oral Torah. A big thank you to Mrs. Gelernter , Mrs. Grysman, Adina Samuels and Ayelet Reiss for a fantastic evening full of learning and fun.
