Following a delicious Umami Sushi dinner, Rabbi Mazer delivered a shiur on the nature of Chanukah. The Greeks opposed our view of the Torah as a religious document – their issue with the Torah was our belief that went with it. We learned that Torah is not just a scholarly pursuit of study, but is also a religious pursuit. Belief in God goes hand-in-hand with the study of Torah.
