Ulpana students and faculty enjoyed a celebratory end of year banquet on Thursday. Among the highlights of the celebration was a year-in-review video produced by Mrs. Weinberg as well as a goodbye video to the Ulpana community from Aliza and Emunah. Malka Daniels, Tamar Sonenberg and Kinneret Witty, publicly cut their hair to donate to children with cancer. A representative from the Canadian Cancer Society came to speak to the girls about the importance of this special mitzvah. We also celebrated Aviva Wapner’s siyum on masechet makkot – and enjoyed a seudat mitzvah sponsored by her parents in honour of her accomplishments. We thank the male faculty who came to Ulpana so Aviva’s father could recite kaddish in the presence of a minyan.
Students from grades 9-11 were recognized for their good middot and exemplary academic accomplishments and were awarded sefarim. Mazel tov to:
Middot: Sheina Franco (Grade 9) Kinneret Witty (Grade 10) Esther Toby (Grade 11)
Student Excellence: Atara Lipson (Grade 9) Shana Edery (Grade 10) Daniella Kartuz (Grade 11)
After the ceremony, Ulpana students went to the gym and enjoyed a Dance Party with alumni Vered Benchitrit and Leora Zauderer, a photo booth, bungee run and airbrush tattoo artist. What a fun way to culminate an amazing 5776 academic year!
