My first impressions of Or Chaim are that it is a nice, clean school with a lot of new programs and activities to offer. The MPR and Science lab look brand new and have a bunch of new gadgets and devices that are really awesome to be able to use. The gym is large with nice ten foot basketball nets, a big upgrade from our elementary school gym. The classes look very nice and clean.

The new teachers and Rabbis are very nice, and I noticed how they give a lot more freedom in the class compared to my previous school. The teachers are much less strict on laptop policies and gave a general feeling of a more mature class. The lessons of the Judaic and general studies classes are much more advanced, and I see myself putting much more thought into the work and lessons. We now also have a lot more responsibilities at school such as community service hours and keeping all our lessons organized now that we’re always switching classes and have a new teacher for every single class.

The new changes will be fun and exciting though, and I am happy and excited to start this great experience.

One of the biggest things that changed is the size of the grade. Previously, I had thirteen kids with me in the grade and we became very well acquainted. Now, we have a grade of thirty one kids, and only eleven are from my previous school. This gives me a chance to meet new people from different places, and now we’re all in one; I am looking forward to getting to know all my new classmates and friends a little better.

Another significant change is going from being the largest and oldest class in school to the smallest and youngest. In elementary school last year, we got more privileges than the younger kids in school, but now we’re back to square one. You go from large to larger, but now all of a sudden you’re the smallest kids in school. The new changes will be fun and exciting though, and I am happy and excited to start this great experience.
