Yom Haatzmaut at UO

Rabbi Greenberg of JLIC spoke beautifully about the connection between the Jewish people and Israel, beginning our day with a deep appreciation for the Jewish State that we celebrate. After a festive breakfast, DJ Phil deejayed a […]
Yom Hazikaron at UO
This Yom Hazikaron was marked with sadness and significance by both schools. Our grade ten classes put on a meaningful presentation to commemorate the sacrifice of those who perished in the defence Israel, or in acts of terror. Their presentation of poetry, performance, video and song poignantly captured the serious and emotional tone of the […]
Yom Haatzmaut at YOC
At YOC, the boys arrived after 11pm for a full night of activities! The evening began with a bbq. Then, the students went to the Beit Midrash for the first-ever Presidential Candidates Panel. All three students spoke well and had thoughtful answers to the questions, a mix of serious and fun questions. Rabbi Spitz and […]
YOC Alumni Mishmar
At this week’s mishmar, we were joined by several alumni for a learning program led by Rabbi Aaron Greenberg of JLIC. We started with a scenario: someone goes to a store, not planning to buy an electronic item, uses the salesperson’s time, without planning on buying anything from the store. The question is: is this […]
UO Father / Daughter Learning
This Tuesday night, our UO students and their fathers participated in this year’s second Father Daughter Learning program, run by the Chinuch Committee. After a delicious dinner, Rabbi Spitz delivered a thought-provoking shiur on modern-day “geula,” redemption, and its relationship with religious Zionism. It was an evening infused with much Torah learning, bonding, and enjoyment.

UO Shabbaton
After waiting for months for Shabbaton to arrive, we were not disappointed with the fantastic result! Though different from our standard Camp George routine, this year’s Shabbaton in Niagara Falls was incredibly memorable and meaningful. Friday was spent enjoying the Clifton Hill attractions, including an arcade, haunted house, and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum. […]
