Living the life of Israeli students

by Gabe and Hannah Aaron

Over the last four weeks, we have spent our time learning at Yeshivat Bnei Akiva and Ulpanat Orot in Modi’in. This experience had a tremendously positive effect on the whole group. We got to experience life as an Israeli student, living in an Israeli home surrounded Israeli friends. We also had the privilege to go on some tiyulim around the country. The tiyulim showed us that we are exploring the same land that our forefathers lived, we are living in the same areas that the stories of the Tanach happened in! We hope that this program continues for many more years to come.

Improving my Ivrit

by Yossi Blumenfeld

Throughout this trip I have noticed a large improvement in my conversational Hebrew. Having conversations every day, numerous times, went from being a hassle to becoming a fun opportunity to improve and practice my Hebrew. Words that you would never use in a textbook like אחי ,גבר, ודי כבר are some of the words I now use the most. Thanks to this program I enjoy speaking Hebrew with my friends from Israel and Toronto.

My Israel experience!

by Leora Kronnenberg

One of the best things about the program for me was meeting my host family. Even though they spoke mostly Ivrit, the language barrier was quickly broken down and we have had the most amazing time together. They took me to so many places. They welcomed me into their home just so I could have a special and unique experience. They have taken care of me and treated me as one of their own. I could not have asked for better hosts, because they were truly genuine and kind. At this point in the trip, they really feel like family.

My Israel experience!

by Eliav Saban

Every since I walked of that plane, for the first time ever in my life, I felt complete. Stepping on the land given to us by our forefathers, made me feel like I was living with them.

Ever since I got here there, it been an experience that I have deeply connected with. From the first Tiyul to the most recent, it has just be getting better. The first Tiyul we went to Jerusalem, The Holy Land. My first experience at the Kotel was unforgettable; also hearing about the history of the Holy Land, was very interesting. My first day of school was unforgettable. The Limudim, people, and teachers are unbelievable. I hope to continue this experience for the weeks to come.

Ulpana in Israel: a new experience!

by Elyanna Remer

We have been studying in the Ulpana in Israel for nearly two weeks now. Everyone is very nice and friendly! We have had so many people come up to us and introduce themselves. We made so many new friends here. Also, I have really been enjoying being in the classes.

Experiencing what it’s like being in an Israeli classroom environment has been incredible. All the teachers are very nice and accommodating, especially with the English. I am very excited to be a part of the school and I hope to bring a part of it back to Toronto.
