When I walked into Or Chaim on the first day, I was a little nervous and overwhelmed. It was finally hitting me that I’m actually starting high school. It was a little weird to be in a different school, after I’ve been at Netivot for my entire life. I’ve gotten a little more used to the school now.

It’s nice to have more freedom at Or Chaim. I’m able to be more independent and can make more of my own choices. During lunch at my old school, we had to stay in the lunchroom, but at Or Chaim, we can even leave the school during lunch. We’re also allowed to use our phones between classes and during breaks at Or Chaim.

I like how Or Chaim is a smaller school. It gives me a chance to know everybody. It makes us more of a family than a school.

I’m only a freshman this year, but I’m sure that as I go into higher grades, I’ll get more comfortable with the school. In the next years, I will be one of the older students in the school, rather than being in the youngest grade.
